Jan Svankmajer! The collected shorts is great, but there’s also “Alice”, “Little Otik”, “Conspirators of Pleasure”, “Faust”, and, “Lunacy”, his latest, which I’m not sure I really liked all that much but I need to watch it again. Check out the Brothers Quay, their collection “Phantom Museums” and the feature-length film “Piano Tuner of Earthquakes”.
Nice start! Have you seen Grindhouse: Planet Terror or Tarantino’s Grindhouse: Death Proof. They are far off the beaten path like Pulp Fiction. They are a great send up of those cheesy 70s slasher films with lots of really fake looking blood, sprinkled with a little T&A to keep it colorful.

Slammy,
Thanks for the recommendations. I think have put Little Otik in my queue. I also seem to recall you mentioning the Brothers Quay before.

Beel,
I have seen those movies and liked them both. Certainly they will make the Feelm site like most of Tarantino and Rodriguez’s work.
